Bridesmaid Edition - rehearsal.

The rehearsal for E&J's wedding was short and sweet.  I love how they dressed for the occasion! Afterwards, we all head over to Pizza House for dinner, some sweet speeches and a very special gift from the bride. :)  Elsie gifted her bridesmaids a PRETTY raw amethyst necklace by Sadie, a beautiful scarf unique to each bridesmaid, a heartwarming note, and a bottle of Jam Jar wine.

We finished the evening with bouquet making and a sleepover. :)

I hope everyone is enjoying these little peeks into their wedding, and my trip. Thanks for reading.

Bridesmaid Edition - flowers

So many details of Elsie & Jeremy's wedding were DIY. It made it so personal, and unique. One of my favorite memories of the whole weekend was making bouquets together, after the rehearsal dinner.  There was fresh flowers, ribbon, velvet roses, feathers, millinery birds, and other sweet details for us to create our own bouquet.  It was neat to see how different each of our arrangements looked, and yet how nicely they went together with the theme.

When we were done I got to surprise Elsie with a little bridal gift that came all the way from London, (thanks PennyLeyn!!) an Orla Kiely mini fragrance and lotion gift set. :)
Afterwards LA and I tried on some vintage dresses from the RV Shop and I took a pretty pink one home with me.

I'll share more details of the wedding, and the rest of our trip, sometime soon.
Enjoy the weekend, friends!

How many pairs of shoes does a little girl need?

...apparently eight.

Kidding, most likely only 1, until she grows out of them, but I can't help it! Shoes are my favorite 'baby girl' accessory.  I think they're the cutest.  Do you ever shop for your kids, or look for a baby gift for a friend/relative and find yourself always drawn to the same things? For me it's the shoes.  Something about how small they are I guess. I don't know.

Clockwise from top left: Joe sandals from Grandpa, Gold - Pediped, fur moccs - Robeez, pink fringe moccs - Minnetonka (a gift for her from our road trip. From a trading post in Oklahoma), Old Navy flip flops, flower shoes from Grandparents, patent moccs - Trumpette, black mary-janes by Pediped (her first shoes ever!)

Here's some adorable handmade shoes for babies: one, two, three, four, five, six.

The funniest part? Delilah can't even walk yet! :P

Roadtrip - Part 1

L to R- Emma, Sarah, Rachel, myself, LA was taking the photo, Sarah of Arrow & Apple, Vanessa, Katie, Elsie, Katrina.

Dinner & candy martinis with these fun girls! That's how we spent Elsie's bachelorette party.  Complete with raspberry chocolate fondue of course. :)  It was such a fun evening. You should have seen the number of cameras on our table at once! You could tell we were bloggers.  The night wouldn't be complete without a hotel sleepover, girl talk, snacking, and dolls.  These are my kind of people. I miss them all already!

Next time you serve up some pretty martinis, add a lollipop! So cute.
I'll be back later for more photos of our trip.

Today I was a part of the most beautiful wedding.  I had so much fun styling the ladies hair, and just witnessing such a lovely couple tie the knot! Every detail about this day made me smile.

I will never forget today.
Congrats to Elsie & Jeremy Larson!! Love you both.

Hair Inspiration - Bridesmaid Edition

I'm too excited! Elsie's wedding this weekend has me looking forward to create beautiful hairstyles. Here are some of the photos I pulled from my hair inspiration folder....

I've been hard on myself for not having time to craft, or not having a space to create art or make things, but when I think about it... I make art all the time! In the form of hair colors, cuts, and styles! Hair styling really is a form of artwork, and I create everyday that I'm at work.  After this realization, I feel a little better with the lack of craftiness in my life, because I still am using my creativity elsewhere. :)

We've had a great trip so far. Here's some favorite observations:
- "make your own" yogurt parfaits in the continental breakfast
- Our Blythe dolls hanging out together on top of E&J's piano
- Bubble tea from TeaDrops
- helping with wedding details
- sandwiches from Big Momma's
- finding the prettiest orange vintage Pyrex
- surprising Jeremy
- Introducing Ryan to some of my favorite people ever.

Unending Love.

The latest lookbook from Ruche is lovely to say the very least.  I am finding myself inspired by pretty much every outfit! Their mix of patterns, lace, and classic silhouettes have my heart.  Here's my favorite looks from Unending Love '11....

I love the hair & makeup on the model, and the photos are so pretty. So well done.
See the rest of them here.

Speaking of Love...
Can't wait to see these two lovebirds say I do this weekend!! xo

Happy wednesday! I'm off to work.

Looking back, and ahead.

"A woman's work is never more important than her art." - Rachel
....then why have I not made any art in the past year?

I had a Guest at the salon this evening who shared with me that she enjoys Art Journaling, and decided to start her own blog! It reminded me of when I would sit down at my desk, surrounded by supplies, ephemera, and inspiration just waiting to be made into a work of art... I sure miss those days.
Remembering this time makes me even more excited to get my new creative space in the works. Every little bit of motivation counts. So thank you, Julia.

Looking back at some of favorite art journal pages...

...makes me wonder what my pages would look like if I started again.
