It's hot... and I mean Hot. Summer isn't my favorite season, mostly because I don't like the extreme heat, but I won't complain because Fall will be here soon enough. (is it ok that I'm excited about that?)
Some of my favorite things about summer are:
- getting ice cream from Warky's or Syl's Drive-Ins.
- late evening bike rides with my family
- rollkuchen and watermelon for supper
- time on the deck at my in-law's
- sandals
- fresh fruit
- bright yellow canola fields
- thunderstorms

I know what you mean. Where I live it also gets extremely hot sometimes it could reach 115. So far this summer it has been very mild.

The heat is just plain painful. I would say my favorite summer thing is taking evening boat rides with my parents.
ReplyDeleteI live by Gretna so I've been feeling the same heat and it makes me super grumpy but you have reminded me to appreciate the things about a prairie summer that I love. Canola fields for one ... I can see the yellow from inside my house!
