[Traveling with her] - Some must haves.

Delilah and I are traveling to Missouri tomorrow! We are spending time with Elsie, Emma, and Rachel & Ruby! This will be Delilah's first flight (there's actually 6 flights all together, there and back), and I've been preparing lots to make sure it goes smoothly, and comfortable. Here are a few things that I will be taking along to make the traveling a success.

Nursing Cover. I've almost had it with nursing, but I'm glad I kept it up because I feel it will be a bit more convenient than bottles/formula. I like to keep very discreet so this is my feeding must have.

A great diaper bag. This is so important to have one that will fit everything you need, and have a place/pocket for everything so it's easily accessible. I've got everything packed into this bag, and I'll feel stylish too.

Traveling Journal. I want to journal as I travel, because I think Delilah will find it neat to read about our adventure, when she's older. Traveling goes by so fast, and I want to make sure I sit down and remember the details. It's going to be a special time! This journal comes with cute stickers too. ;)
Instax Camera. I can capture the moment, and instantly add it to my journal. A cute way to keep memories.
My Peanut Shell Sling. I can keep her close, and it gives a comfy place to nap on the plane. I can walk around with her in this for long periods of time and it's comfortable to sit with her in it as well. I've educated myself on a few different holds, depending if she's awake or sleeping.
Oh, and of course.
...wait, you say I said I was cutting back? Nonsense. ;) A little PSL can go a long way.

Here's some links to super cute handmade versions of my must-maves:

So there you have it. A few of my travel must haves for taking trips with wee ones. I'm really looking forward to this weekend!! I won't be bringing my macbook, so I'll be a little unplugged over the weekend. Next week I'll be following my new blogging schedule, and I'm looking forward to it!
Have a good one!

  4. Have a good trip! I tried using a nursing cover with V. last week but he kept pulling it off, so I just had to be discreet about it (I was wearing a zip up hoodie so that covered a lot.) I hear ya about being almost done with nursing though, ugh!! Also, I had V. in a carrier and they made me take him out of in before going through security, just an FYI...I didn't end up using it the rest of the trip, but my arm was killing me, so I hope it works for you!

  11. I have a SnuggyBaby ring sling and use the long tail as my nursing cover. It's perfect, and there is less to pack! Saved a little money not needing a nursing cover.

Great list. I never find time to journal, but I would bet my daughters would love to find some journals years from now.
