hello.

....it was SO hot today, it was tempting. :P
I spent most of the day outside determined to enjoy the outdoors despite the heat, because um.... it's August already?! Summer is flying by. Gotta soak it in.

'Twas the long weekend, and it was good. Lots of ups and downs. Ryan was away. Him and his Dad rode motorcycles to Oshkosh, WI for the annual AirVenture. My Mom and Stepdad went as well, (my family likes aviation) so I was missing them. I was very thankful that I didn't have to be alone with the kids... my MIL invited us to stay with them while our men were vacationing. We ate meals together on the deck, stayed up late, drank tea, watched movies.. good stuff like that. I baked 48 cupcakes for a bbq, which is always fun. I chose to make chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream, and lemon cupcakes with real blueberry buttercream. It's one of my most favorite things to bring to an event/gathering. Jackie and I brought the kids to the annual "Cousin Barbeque" and it was so fun to watch all the kids eat the cupcakes, and there were a lot of kids there. :) We enjoyed Starbucks on the drive home, and drove through some down pours.

I'm looking forward to the rest of August. A friend is due to have a baby. I'm getting tattooed. Corn & Apple Fest. Learning about new products at work. Making goals. Visit from my Dad & Grandpa. Making things, and finishing projects.

Happy August.

  2. Eating outside, late nights, nice movies... that sounds sooo good! That's why I'm looking forward to August too - our seasons are reversed so we'll get to do some more of that soon.

Would you share your cupcake recipes one day? I'm good at cakes, bikkies, slices, but I'm TERRIBLE at cupcakes. Sad face. I'd love to know how you do it!

I hope you and your little ones are going well! xo
