[4 Simple Goals]

I've decided to participate in "4 Simple Goals" as recently posted on Elsie's blog. I think it's a wise thing to know your goals, write them down, and reward yourself after accomplishing them! This is a great idea. Here are my 4 Simple Goals before 2o11.

1. More 'tea' dates.
*yes I know those photos are not of tea... you get the idea ;)
I want to make more of an effort to have my friends over to my house for random tea dates. I also want to go visit my friends who live in the city and take them out for tea. Another important thing I want to start doing regularly is having a tea time with my husband. I think we need more time to just sit, talk, and just BE with eachother, over a pot of creme caramel rooibos... (why not coffee you ask? I'm trying to cut back... so choosing tea over coffee is part of this goal as well.) If I cut my coffee consumption down and have tea dates more often, I will reward myself with a travel press for loose tea, and another tea shopping trip to DavidsTea. It's been suuuuper hard to avoid coffee, but I know it will benefit me (and Delilah while I'm nursing...).

2. Photos, photos, photos!
I have made my Rebel very lonely.... I want to make an effort to take more photos with friends on a day to day basis, and have fun photo shoots. I also want to make it a goal to take lots of pictures of my children at this precious time in their life. I know they will thank me one day.
If I take more photos, they will be the reward itself.

3. Put "creating" back into my schedule.
It's challenging to find the time to make things these days... but I miss it so much! I want to make it a goal to schedule more craft time, crochet time, stitching time, sewing time.... I think inviting friends over to create with me will help to make the time. I have crochet projects on the go, and all the supplies for a cute stitchy accessory project, but I just never get around to them... My reward to making time to create will be the fruits of that creative labour, and I will reward myself with ordering new yarn from Knit Picks for a blanket I want to crochet. I think once the weather gets cooler, and 2 of my friends will be home with new babies, it will be easier to get together and craft... summer is so busy!

4. Give my kids a beautiful space that's all their own.
(from my inspiration folder and I forget the source! If you know it please link it in the comments)

Simon will be moving into his new room after the sanding is done, paint, doors, flooring, lighting.... ha, we're not exactly close, but I'm looking forward to focusing on making it a fun space for him. We've ordered his new bedding for his birthday next month, and I'm excited to give it to him! I also can't wait to have Delilah graduate from the bassinet to her nursery so I can decorate that room as well. I have all these ideas floating around, and I want to put them into action! Once their rooms are done, my reward for giving them a beautiful space will be a Modernica rocker in white for my livingroom.... just kidding Ryan. Actually I'm not kidding... yes I am. .. no I'm not.

So there's my 4 Simple Goals! Thanks for a great project, Elsie!
Head on over to A Beautiful Mess to join in the goal making fun.

  5. I love your goals, especially about drinking tea! I've never been a coffee gal myself, but there are so many perks to drinking tea. I should do it more often as well.

  6. What great goals. I especially love the Tea Time one. Sometimes I feel like great conversation is what is really lacking in my world with husband, family and friends. Love this post :)
