Thank you Carolyn.

AMEN.
Parenting is a much crazier job than I expected, but it's also so much more rewarding than I expected as well. It's so full of ups and downs, and there are some people that just don't get it.
I'm trying. I try every day to be the best mommy I can be, and let me tell you, it's the hardest and most fun thing I've ever done. How does that work, you ask? I ask myself the same thing.

"Parenting is an amazing, tiring, beautiful, crazy and absolutely the most important Task. It turns your life upside down - but you soon find that upside down is right side up. I found this article on-line: stay positive all you parents-in-the-trenches. keep your head held up high - you are truly all amazing."

Looking forward to the weekend! Working at the salon, pedicures with my SIL, making use of the little Fawn's new swimsuit, a cutie's first birthday party, wearing a new dress, and soaking it all in... xo

  1. That's a great article!
Being a mom is hard work. But the joy you get from being with your kids is greater than any other paycheque you could earn.
You never fully understand motherhood until you're right in it!

  2. Since I'm just sitting down to eat lunch (while checking email/fb/blogs) after taking both kids to the grocery store, this is perfect :)

I'm VERY blessed to be at home, but even so, it is EXHAUSTING to take them both to the store. :) I think some don't understand how you can be tired after getting groceries :)

  5. Hahah, ahh the people with no kids. They will never get it. That article is hilarious. Thank you for posting! I'm about to have my second little one (37 weeks, 1 day), and have been worried about how to balance a toddler and a newborn. Glad to know I'm not alone in this! :) I keep looking back to your blog for hope that it is possible, lol. Take care and keep up the great work of being a Mommy!

  11. I am a new mom of twins - not easy but this article made me feel better about not getting to all the things I used to and for having rearranged my priorities!

  12. I cannot even begin to tell you how good this article made me feel. The part about getting ten minutes to myself to have some thoughts I can relate to. I have a 6,4, and 2 year old, and its pretty much a circus around her. I love it, but relaxing sometimes only comes when they are eating a meal or naptime.

  14. You know, I used to feel the same way. I don't have kids, so I didn't understand why my friend who has a baby never had time for me, and thought she was just blowing me off all the time, or using her baby as an excuse to not hang out with me. I figured, well, she's always at home, what, she can't bring her kid out or just come over here and hang out? Then I spent a day with her and her baby. Then I stopped being such a jerk and became more understanding :) I hope the person who wrote in to this column gets that understanding, too, or she'll just continue being bitter.
