[Lipstick - What's your color?]

I've never been one to wear lipstick. I usually stick to a gloss, or very light tint. When choosing a color, I always go for the nude shades, or light nude shades with a hint of peach. I never like looking over done, but I like there to be a little something to show I took the effort. ;)

I loved the Mad Men episode where the ladies are asked to try a certain brand of lipstick. Most of them squeal in delight, and rush to make sure they get "their color".
I've never had a color.... until now! Jenna has inspired me to wear lipstick, and after trying her MAC matte lipstick, I was convinced. It wasn't goopy feeling, or dry looking. It felt nice and lasted all day!

We ventured to MAC while on a shopping trip last week, and with the affirmation of the make up consultant, I went with the matte Velvet Teddy. On days when I want a little shimmer, I'll wear my Aveda lip tint in 'Spice' on top.



So far, I have worn it everyday since I bought it, and I think it's safe for me to call it "my color". Seems like such a silly thing... lipstick, but I feel more "grown-up" now, hehe! I forgot to take a photo of me wearing it, and now it's too dark.... so I'll have to show you later. ;)

  1. My color is New york Apple by MAC. It's bright and deep pink with a wonderful twinkle. Makes my teeth look white, too. It wears nicely both heavy and blotted and tastes like a cookie!

  2. I'm with you and go with the nudes but Mac has some great shades that seem to go with any skin tone and aren't too garish. I love to try them when I'm at the department stores!

  5. i had to wear pink lipstick during my sorority pledging so after 6 weeks of that i pretty much despise lipstick. but the orange-y color in the new j.crew adds is so adorable!!

  6. Lately Ive been wearing Bare Minerals lip gloss in Sugar Plum (pinky, berry shade) or in Sugar Cookie (sheer shimmer). They stay on FOREVER and are not goopy nor do they stick to your hair (a problem Ive always had with MAC glosses), for a lipstick I love my MAC Buffy. Always fun to try new colors!

  7. I'm totally addicted to trying new colours! I always wear something with colour, and I mix it up with reds, peachy colours, and pinks :) I would look like a ghost without something on my lips :P

  9. I honestly just wear lip balm all the time - my Blistex Silk & Shine (3 tubes in different locations)! But other days when i'm looking "blah" I wear Sephora's Lip Attitude in Glamour (G16). Neutral but with color for me. =)

  13. Ohh! I'll have to look at that color the next time I go into MAC. Mine is their cremesheen lipstick in Crosswires! It's the most fabulous rose coral color. :)

  14. I love MAC, light shad of pink is my color. I just can't go in that store to much, I wish it wasn't so Darn pricey!
