It was Delilah's first day out! I managed to get both kids up and fed and ready for me and babe's first doctor's appointment at 9 this morning. Then my Dad came out for the day. We bbq'ed and took the kids to the park. (eeek! "the KIDS") It was an absolutely gorgeous day.

One huge thing that happened for me today, was the fact that I ACTUALLY ENJOYED BREASTFEEDING! That's huge. This was the first day (ever) that I've enjoyed it, felt confident about it, and didn't have any problems doing it. I felt like I could conquer the world.

Soaking up a wee bit of sun. (the photo is overexposed, she's actually nicely in the shade)

Simon LOVES it when "Papa 'Kenna" comes for a visit. He usually spoils him with "wollipops" and green balloons. We played at the park, went for ice cream cones, enjoyed the weather, and overall had a very good day. I had a visit with my good friend Lisa in the evening as well. I'm thankful for days like today.

I'm hearing you about breast-feeding - "the most natural thing in the world" does not come as naturally as one would hope!
ReplyDeleteBut so glad you found your groove. Remember days like this when you have bad days... coz we some days we need a ray of sunshine, and you were mine today. Thanks!

Aww looks like you had a wonderful day! I really want to breastfeed but I'm kind of scared to in a way.
ReplyDeleteI hope you update more on it later in the future. I like getting opinions on it from different people.
Oh and did you take a breastfeeding class or did you just learn at the hospital?

cute kids!
ReplyDeleteway to go!!
ReplyDeleteNursing was, for me, the ray of light during that early hard post partum time, although it didn't come natural with my first...it took probably 6 weeks to "click", but the second was much easier.
Congrats on the breast feeding accomplishment...it's a wonderfully natural thing and went much better with my second and third than it did with the first! Looks like you had a beautiful day with your family...nothing better than that!!
ReplyDeletehope you continue to do well with your nursing. I LOVED nursing (after the initial soreness wore off) it was usually a wonderful and calming moment in my day.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well with the transition. It can be CRAZY HARD but so wonderful.
Awesome! Sounds like being a parent for a second time is going well, thus far.
ReplyDeleteI started following your blog for Blythe stuff, and then I realized (quickly) that you were having Delilah, and I LOVE reading about your family! I am looking forward to my first child in October! Following your posts make me feel like I'm getting a sneak preview. Haha. Also, thanks for the wonderful crochet tutorials!
