the start:

Meet my first Blythe doll. She came in the mail today, from Maryland. Her name is Talula Lilac. :) Katie and I went 'halfers' on the Simply Lilac and Peppermint doll set. So they're like sisters. :)

I've had fun checking out forums and tutorials online this afternoon. I'm looking forward to trying different techniques, and maybe trying to make a scalp with mohair... I mean, I'm in the hair business, so it seems natural for me to get into that. ;) There's a lot of helpful tutorials here. If anyone has other links they want to share, feel free!
It looks like the possibilities are pretty much endless! ...

Ok, I'll quit being a Blythe nerd now.
What made YOUR day?

  1. No! Blythe nerds are the best! Seems like so many Blythe posts it makes me want to post as well! I just did a major over haul of my Lounging Lovely. She is still in pieces awaiting new eye chips. I love your lilac! You think you are going to do a lot to her?

  2. She is beautiful!
May I ask where/how you researched? And where/how you purchased? I am planning to buy my first soon, and want to get lots of info before I do.
    Thanks!!!

  4. Caitlin: I probably won't do too much... make-up, and maybe some hair cuts and different eye chips.

Scarlett: Katie had the idea to buy the set together, so she did most of the researching. It came down to pric for me, she was the most affordable one at this time. We got them on ebay. :)

  8. Join the club Holly. Next time you come visit, I'll bring my PDginger blythe. I did some customization to her eye chips, hair cut, face matt and totally reformed her mouth with a dremel tool. Very scary but I'm super happy with how her mouth is so much more natural. I love your purple haired girl!
