Sometimes I like to rent movies on iTunes and watch them by myself.
I chose to do so last night, as I was working on finishing a knitting project.. turns out I had to put the knitting away, because I didn't want to miss anything about this one.
"Adam" caught my attention as I was browsing the titles, because I had never heard of it before, and it looked charming. A romantic comedy with unexpected events... perfect for my mood.
It turned out to be very charming, and lovable. I have never heard of Asperger's Syndrome before, and it was neat to see an actor portray the condition in the movie. I cried during some of the sweet parts, and some of the frustrating parts too.... definitely not your typical Hollywood romance, but definitely worth watching. I'm glad I picked it.

I saw the trailer for that movie a while ago and it definitely made me want to watch. Shall have to see if I can rent it here in the UK too.
ReplyDeleteI saw this movie today as well and liked it as you did. But I actually knew what an Asperger's Syndrome is (I should because I'm writing a bachelor thesis about autism :)). I think there are several quite new movies focused on Asperger's or autism..like The Black Balloon or Mary & Max. I think it's good because people know at least a bit more about these disorders :)
ReplyDeletecute movie!
ReplyDeletei'm going to have to check that one out! thank you for sharing it.
the pictures alone make it look so adorable and cute! I love watching movies by myself too. It's very relaxing.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting to see this! It's at the top of my netflix queue...now if i can just return one so i can get it!!! ha! I can't wait to see it!

hugh dancy was absolutely perfect.
I'm so going to have to watch this movie now...thanks for telling us about it. There is also one with Josh Hartnett called "Mozart and the Whale" that is pretty good...I have a son with Autism (but not the asperger's part of it) so I am always interested in these types of movies and glad that they shed light on the subject.
ReplyDeletei wanted to see this when it came out! i never got a chance too though... so i was so excited to read this post! i just rented it and watched it from itunes and fell in love with this movie! so incredible... i cried too.

Isnt rose an amazing actress? shes an australian, and everything shes done is just wonderfull.
ReplyDeleteIve not heard of the movie, but want to check it out.
My cute nephew is being tested, for what they think is aspergers, but i guess it takes alot of different kinds of tests and studys of behaviour for them to see what it really is.
xx
Thank you, I'll have to give that a watch. I love Hugh Dancy - as a lot of the of the commenters do it seems:)
ReplyDeletei loved this movie!
ReplyDeleteAww that's so cute! Yeah, that syndrome is also known as Autism, and I didn't know they were related either until I read this book called 'the curious incident of the dog in the night-time'. If you're looking for a great, sweetly simple read, please do! I highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely sounds like a Netflix add, thanks for the suggestion!
ReplyDeleteI loved that movie.
ReplyDeleteIt saw it in the theater a few months ago, and I cried, too, watching it.
It's definitely one I want to add to my collection.
I'm watching the movie with the hubby right now! I like that it's not your typical Hollywood movie. I think Hugh Dancy is pretty wonderful in it too! :)
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to thank you.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this post a few days ago I watched the movie and I thought it was great, too!
If you have any other suggestions, send them my way!
i'll have to add this film to my list. now that i read your post about it, it reminded me that i saw a preview for it a while ago and then it never crossed my path again (probably because i don't get television channels, and don't go to the movies often at all) . . so thanks! writing it down now!
