24 weeks and counting... 16 to go.

24 weeks feels like the week of the watermelon... from here on in it's just big & bigger. Today I felt like I was carrying around a melon, lol.

And in case any of you were wondering (which you likely weren't), potty training has been awesome so far! I mean, it's only been 3 days but the little man is a rockstar!
His favorite outfit these days... "Cars" pull-ups, and boots.... I think he likes them because he can pull both things on all by himself. :P
If any mom-bloggers out there have any potty training advice, I'd love to hear it! I'm all new at this, and doing it whichever way seems the most positive for parents & child, and it's been good, but I can always use some advice from those who have been there before.

Looking forward to a relaxing Sunday... crocheting is due, and some Supercross will be watched. I love sundays.

As far as potty training goes...um..I can't remember what finally worked! HA! I blame it on the pregnancy.

  6. you are so adorable pregnant...i'm jealous at 24 weeks i looked more like a blimp than like i was carrying a melon!

as far as potty training,it doesn't seem like you are having any problems! i seemed to have a really easy go at it too, i kind of just put her in undies and told her good luck <3 oh and there were smarties candy involved :-)

  7. You are absolutely beautiful, Holly! What a great picture!!!

The only thing that finally worked with Grayson and #2 was a book I made and every time he went, he got a Chuck E. Cheese (paper) coin to add. When it was full and he went on his own for a week, he got a trip to chuck e. cheese. It worked!

  9. you look great!
We are also potty training (big goal of Jan. 2010! lol) and so far it has been easiest when I don't get stressed out. Because we are in an area where there are dumps and dumps of snow/freezing weather, it has worked to stay inside and run around in undies! It took about two weeks to finally be comfortable to have him go out on errands, or play dates in the undies, but I totally agree with the smarties candy! We give out a gummi for everytime!
Also, if you find it isn't clicking, try again in a month or two, it could just be that it isn't clicking....that's waht happened to us in Sept 2009...just have to give them a bit more time to get it! Way to go, Simon!!

potty training in our house was... keep them contained in certain areas. drink lots and sit on the potty ALL the time. :)

  11. You look great! As far as PT...well we struggled and we close when #2 came and then he totally regressed and we had to wait about 6 months to start again...but once he did he has been doing great with very few accidents. I try not to get stressed out at all and that helps me not to force him to do anything. He just learned to pee standing up and was sooo proud :) So if he has any bumps after the baby is born just known it will all work out

  13. You are so adorable.

I think you are on the right track with potty training. Encouragement and positiver reinforcements are the best things you can do for him.

  17. My boys always get bored and pee everywhere. So I started to tell them to make bubbles in the toilet. My 3 year old still wants to show me the bubbles he makes. Hope this helps your floors stay as clean as it has kept mine :D ~Tara

  18. For potty training at our house. Sticker to put on a sheet right outside the bathroom. One for #1 and 2 for well #2. It went really well. Oh and we got super excited and gave lots of praise everytime!

  19. You look adorable!

We've been on a full-out potty training thing for a little over a week. It's been do or die for us, thanks to his preschool teacher. She said no more pull ups other than nap and bedtime. (Oy!)

A few tricks I've learned: a skittle for going each time, decorate together and set a cool egg timer for every hour, toss a cheerio in the potty for aiming practice if it starts to get messy, and if all else fails... let him go outside if it's warm enough. Boys love it for some odd reason. lol.

Hope it goes well for you!

  21. Hi Holly,

I'm a new mama too - my sweet Marley is nearing the potty-training era - so if you have advice to share soon, I'll be on the lookout for it here.

Congrats on a second baby - you look darling with that lil melon-belly!
