good.

I had a good start to my day, by winning a giveaway over at Kup Kup Land! I can't wait to see the little pin cushion, and amazingly detailed buttons! Check out the blog for sure.
As for my shopping day... fabulous! Jenna was a HUGE help, and definitely knew what to pick out for me.  This outfit in particular, she picked out.  I NEVER shop at Le Chateau, I think I'm scared to go in there. So fancy, and girly.... and I'm more of a comfy, boyish, grey type girl... but today:
I looked more like a business owner! (which I will be in 2 more days!)
Here's one of my favorite items I got during the spree:
checkered spring jacket from Jacob.  LOVE the jackets from that store.
Thanks so much Jenna, for helping me look girly and professional! :)  I want you to be my shopping partner forever and ever.
One store that she introduced me to was Aritzia.
It was such a pretty store! So modern and classic at the same time, decor wise.  I definitely want to go there in the near future (but with more $$$)  I checked out the site, and I love it! The models are so pretty, and I love the photography!!  These are my favorites.

ooh ooh! I got cuuuute earrings in the mail today from Hi Tree.  I love Tina's work soooo much.

(ps, the blue hair is gone tomorrow, I'm sick of it already. One week is enough, for fun.) :D

So on Wednesday.....

..will be ours!  I'm nervous as well as excited.  I can't wait to clean it, and set up all the new product.  This image is for the sign design, and now I have to go and work on the business cards... wish I didn't have to do it myself, but that's what the budget says I have to do.  I'll probably be glad in the end....

xoxo, holly
ps. I want to do a giveaway on Wednesday, in light of the new business!! So check back for that!

new friends, and new accomplishments!

Guess who I met on Friday!? :)
Leigh-Ann is SO much fun, I was so happy to meet her!  We did hair, ate ice cream, thrifted, and laughed about hideous dresses. :)  It was my pleasure doing your hair LA, and I hope we hang out again soooon!

I made my first blanket this week too! It's the 'X' Marks the Spot picnic blanket from the Pretty Online Class.  It's not perfect, and the seams aren't totally straight, but I loooooooove it, and I think it will be my friend.  I love the mendocino fabric by Heather Ross.  The mermaids are so pretty, and it's so soft too!   While at Value Village with LA on Friday, I found a cute Strawberry Shortcake bed sheet, and I think it's going to make a cute blanket for a certain little newborn girlie. ;)

Ok, Ashley's over, and we just finished making some awwwwesome cupcakes with Bailey's marshmallow frosting, and we're going to go color with crayons now. Loves!!

wednesday: snow day.

This is looking out my living room window today.... not cool!  I thought spring was coming, but my Grandma told me we hadn't seen the end of snow yet. I had a feeling she would be right. 15cm of snow expected today, blowing.... you know, blizzard. :S
I had planned on driving into Winnipeg today to pick up inventory and supplies for the salon, but that's not happening today.... I'm not one to drive on ice. lol.

On a happier note, I bought a new box of crayons!  I loooove new crayons. So bright and lovely.  I'm going to do some coloring with Simon later, that's going to brighten a snowy day in. (I hope he doesn't break too many!)

And here's some pretty dresses from Bleubird Vintage.  I'm going shopping with Jenna on Sunday, and we're going to work on getting me into some nicer, more feminine attire! I usually buy masculine looking clothes, grey, black, you know... boring!  So these dresses made me happy..

Now if only spring would come!! aahG!
Ok, back to work, lots to do today...

Hello, My name is Maude.

Meet Maude. She is my sewing machine. She is a Kenmore, and I have enjoyed getting to know her over the past few months.  Today she got some new accessories thanks to RVA. :)

So fun.
Some projects for the two of us in the near future include:
-x marks the spot picnic blanket from the Pretty class, which I am pumped about because I have gathered some cuuuute Heather Ross fabric for that.
-spring apron.
-scrapbook layouts.
-hoody. (steph, I'm determined, we will get together and sew our own) <3

Maude says nice to meet you.

it's been too long..

..Since I last scrapbooked.  I was browsing some of my favorite product websites this morning and I stumbled upon these cute scrapbooking products!
little onesie papers from Hambly. (photos credit from each company's site)

papers from Paink Paislee:

sassafras:

*adorable* rub-ons from American Crafts:
(love love the ring pop!)
and these cute embellishments too:

I scrapbooked A LOT last year, but closer to the end of the year I started art journalling more, and found that to be more enjoyable.  It's been a year since I joined some friends on a scrapbooking getaway, and I'm getting the itch again.  Maybe I'll make a layout or two this week, if time allows. :)
I've been itching to do some layouts with... crayons!
Better go get ready for work... enjoy your monday everyone.

time to retreat!

I'm gone for the entire weekend!  My church is having a women's retreat, and I've been on the planning committee this year.  I'm excited that it's all come together, and now all the hard work will seem worth it.  I'm leaving my boys at home, and looking forward to sharing, laughing, and enjoying the time away. :)
Before I go I thought I would leave you with some inspiring photos...
coloring with crayons! (I think I'm going to bring some to the retreat)
stunning wedding photos. (again, can you tell I've been busy with wedding photos lately?)
this is one of the most stunning weddings pics I've seen.

Have a great weekend everyone! I'm off to visit the Schwartkopf rep for ordering! :)
12 more days! yikes.

just because.

Oh I'm getting SO excited about the salon now.  We take over on April 1st, which is coming soooo fast! It's been fun to talk to suppliers and sales folk about what product lines we want to carry.  I'm looking forward to using the new Essensity line by Schwatzkopf!
And these fabulous Arbonne products!

I'm looking forward to cleaning the place up, and setting up inventory the way I like.  eee!
And just because, here's some fun polyvore sets that I've made lately.  I was introduced to the site not that long ago, and I'm already addicted to it. ;)
Here's one my sister and I made together for a look for her.
My tea party look.  Wouldn't you just love to go to a fancy tea party in this? lol, maybe not, but I certainly would.

Here's one my Mom-in-law picked out with me.

Also, how cute are the new Crocs for spring!?!  I have the most awful feet (long story) and can never find cute shoes that don't cause me pain.  Last summer I wore my crocs almost everyday, because they were so comfortable, and I didn't have to take advil everyday... :P But they certainly aren't the most stylish footwear around.  I bet there are a lot of haters out there that think they're hideous, lol.  Check these out!
I'll take a pair of each, thank you.

For fun, here's some lovely re-purposed clothing from Postlapsaria.

Random alert: I've been editing lots of wedding photos lately, and I've been browsing through my own wedding photos too. Can't believe it's been 3 years!  Thought I would share some with you.

hope everyone's thursday is lovely.
