refreshed.

Our weekend was wonderful.
Really wonderful.

We saw some of the most beautiful places in Canada, and had a chance to relax and have fun, just the two of us!  I'll share some of my favorite photos from the trip... there's sort of a lot...

had to put my feet in the crystal clear water... but it was fah-reeeeezing!
i love this shot of ryan.
we didn't bring a tripod... so sp's it was!
we caught a glimpse of a fox. can you find him?
beautiful bow falls.
ryan at castle mountain.
we took the highway 1A to Lake Louise.... most beautiful drive.
*sigh* Lake Louise. Heaven on earth.   The weather was perfect, and we took a canoe on the lake.

look at the color of the water!! It's glacier melt water, so that's why it's so turquoise.  We canoed all the way to the end of the lake, and took a sip of the water! better than evian, I'm tellin ya.  (and sooooo cold!)

This is Moraine Lake... another beauty.

On the gondola up to the top of Sulphur Mountain. Starbucks in hand, of course.
view of Banff.
We got to the top, and could see that we didn't have much time before some rain came...

on the summit!
Before we left I had to take a photo of the most beautiful Starbucks location, ever! You can see the gondola in the background.
On the last day, we decided to check out of our hotel and drive the day away.  We had breakfast first, at Coyote's... we had breakfast there every morning, because we loved it sooo much, and the coffee was AMAZING.

Afterwards, we drove the 1A back up to Lake Louise, and onward to Golden, British Columbia.  My first time in BC!
From Banff National Park, to Yoho National Park...
The clouds were low and pretty in the morning.

On the way there we saw a small group of big horn sheep!  It was pretty much the only wildlife we saw...
From Golden, we drove down a valley to Radium Hot Springs... but it was raining, and we didn't have a lot of time, so we didn't stay.
Now onto Kootenay National Park!
We saw some forest fire sites that stretched for miiiiiles. It was sort of eerie.
....and back to Banff National Park! 3 in one day!
Rundle Mountain
Three Sisters at Canmore.
Johnson Lake.

The mountain air was so refreshing....
Ok holly, back to real life now.

I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend!
XO holly

Canada is a really beautiful place, I'd love to get out West someday (not to say we don't have some beauty out here in NS, but nothing THAT big!)

  15. sooo awesome. Long weekends without kids are WONDERFUL, huh? :)

My hubs is from Van., BC & it is the most beautiful place--seeing these pictures he got a little homesick...since we live in the most un-cool place ever geographically speaking. Nothing around us but corn & cows! :)

  18. Rundle is my fave mountain of all time. I live about an hour south of Canmore. I only get a view of the foothills from my house (and a heck of alot of wind!).
We spend most of our summer mountain biking in Canmore and Jasper. Two of my fave places in the world.
Great pics, thanks for sharing and so glad you got to relax and recharge for the fall/holiday season.
